Teaching Activities

I provide advice on quality of research theses within the MSc in Health Psychology programme. I also supervise PhD and MSc students and clinical psychology doctorates.

I am teaching on the following courses:

PSYC 6001: Psychosocial aspects of health

PSYC 6003: Psychosocial aspects of illness and disability (course co-ordinator)

PSYC 6002: Psychology and the delivery of health care

  1. Daniel Schoth: Time course of attentional bias towards pain related stimuli in patients suffering from chronic daily headache.
  2. Kim Bull: A longitudinal investigation of the effects of child and parent psychological factors on the perceived quality of life of children treated for a brain tumour.
  3. Petra Harris: Moderators, Mediators and Predictors of Therapeutic Outcome in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Chronic Pain in Adults.
  4. Sherrill Snelgrove (Swansea University): An interpretative phenomenological analysis of living with chronic low back pain

     

 

 

 

Research Interests

My programme of research in pain focuses on three intertwined themes a) the cognitive and affective neuroscience of pain, b) the development of theory driven psychological interventions for the management of acute and chronic pain in children, c) the evaluation of the efficacy and effectiveness of psychological interventions in paediatric pain management.
